Pure PTFE (white) offers the highest chemical purity and is the standard choice for pharmaceutical, food, and dairy sanitary connections. Blue glass-filled PTFE contains glass microspheres that improve compressive strength and reduce cold flow under sustained clamp pressure — ideal for chemical processing lines, high-temperature cycling, and applications where the gasket experiences frequent clamp-unclamp cycles. The blue color also provides visual identification to distinguish gasket materials in multi-product facilities. Both grades meet FDA and USP Class VI requirements.

We manufacture to all major sanitary clamp standards: DIN 32676, ISO 2852, ASME BPE, and BS 4825. Our gaskets fit standard tri-clamp (tri-clover) ferrules from 1/2" (DN10) to 12" (DN300). Yes. PTFE tri-clamp gaskets withstand continuous steam sterilization at temperatures up to 260°C with zero degradation. Unlike elastomer gaskets (EPDM, silicone, FKM) that harden, crack, or absorb media over repeated SIP cycles, PTFE maintains its sealing properties and dimensional stability indefinitely under steam exposure. This makes PTFE the preferred material for pharmaceutical and biotech SIP systems.

Common custom requests include oversized OD for damaged ferrule faces, extra-thick gaskets for deep-groove clamps, and non-standard bolt-hole patterns for hybrid flange connections. PTFE gaskets outperform EPDM and silicone in three critical areas: (1) Chemical resistance — PTFE is inert to virtually all chemicals, while EPDM swells in solvents and silicone degrades in acids; (2) Temperature range — PTFE handles -200°C to +260°C vs EPDM (-40°C to +150°C) and silicone (-60°C to +200°C); (3) Service life — PTFE does not age, harden, or absorb media over repeated CIP/SIP cycles. The tradeoff is that PTFE is less elastic and requires proper clamp torque to achieve a seal. Blue glass-filled PTFE offers the best balance of chemical resistance and compressive strength for demanding sanitary applications.
