What type of back-up ring cut do I need for my application? +

Spiral cut is ideal for easy installation without stretching the ring over the shaft — best for general hydraulic service. Solid rings offer maximum extrusion resistance for high-pressure static applications. Scarf-cut allows field installation without disassembly. Contoured profiles are designed for dynamic rod and piston sealing. Our engineers will recommend based on your specific setup.

Do you offer standard AS568 size back-up rings? +

Yes. We manufacture back-up rings in all standard AS568 dash sizes, with common sizes often available from stock. We also produce fully custom dimensions — simply provide your groove ID, OD, and width, and we'll machine to your exact specification.

What material works best for high-pressure back-up rings? +

For pressures above 3,000 psi, glass-filled RPTFE and PEEK are the top choices. PEEK offers the highest extrusion resistance and is preferred for extreme pressures and temperatures up to 260°C. Carbon-graphite filled RPTFE adds anti-static properties for flammable media service.

What is your minimum order quantity for custom back-up rings? +

We support prototype and testing orders starting from 1 piece. Production quantities start at 50 pieces per size, with volume pricing available for 1,000+ pieces. We also offer kit programs for seal repair sets.

Can you match an existing back-up ring sample? +

Yes. Send us your existing back-up ring sample, and we'll reverse-engineer the exact dimensions — ID, OD, width, cut type, and material. We'll also suggest material upgrades if your operating conditions have changed since the original design.
